The Mistress is a sitcom that aired from 1985 to 1987 on BBC2. Starring Felicity Kendal and Jane Asher, Carla Lane wrote it. The Mistress includes a youthful florist who is having a affair with a married man, Kendal playing Maxine, whose wife has been played with Jane Asher. This had been disliked by some viewers, who were unhappy in seeing Felicity Kendal, that was known as the innocent Barbara Good, playing a woman sleeping with the husband of someone else.
