The Guru is really a TV series created by Michael Sloan that aired on NBC. The show focuses on the adventures of his young pupil, and John Peter McAllister an aging celebrity master. Most episodes concentrate on the pair driving around in a customized van, so helping people in need over the way, very similar to the contemporary. The Guru lasted 13 episodes. The series was edited into seven movies that were released on video in 1985 and 1984.
