Target was a police drama show that ran on BBC1. It was set as the 13th Regional Crime Squad in Southampton. The show was originally developed under the name of Hackett by producer Graham Williams, but he was subsequently asked to swap functions Who Target. It starred Patrick Mower as Det. Supt. Steve Hackett, Brendan Price as Det. Sgt. Frank Bonney, Vivien Heilbron as Det. Sgt. Louise Colbert and Philip Madoc as Det. Chief Supt. Tate. Seventeen episodes were produced over just two chain. The show has been that the BBC response to the highly successful show The Sweeney of ITV. Much like The Sweeney the cars utilized were Fords Cortinas and Granadas. However the personal car of Hackett is American along the lines of a Dodge Charger and is seen in many of incidents. There's a definite lack of humor when compared with the Sweeney to be more violent than The Sweeney, though watching this now it's hard to discern the difference and at the time that the show was thought. The second show was down. Also Patrick Mower being a formidable celebrity seems to overwhelm the cast. The theme music was by Dudley Simpson. Each episode lasted approx 50mins. There has been A show mooted with Robert Banks Stewart taking over as producer. He spent two weeks in the producer's seat, during which he planned to improve the cast, bring the violence down and steer the show farther. But he has advised by the head of play which the show has been scrapped and asked to come up with an upgraded crime series. He devised the personal eye play shoe string.
