Satyamev Jayate can be a tv talk show that aired on several stations within Star Network alongside Doordarshan's DD National. The very first season of the show premiered on 6 and marked with the tv screen debut of Bollywood actor and film maker Aamir Khan. Work with the next season has begun. The show highlights sensitive social problems prevalent in India such as female foeticides, child sexual abuse, dowry, medical malpractice, honour killings, insensitivity towards the disabled, domestic violence, over use of pesticides leading to pesticide poisoning, alcoholism, untouchability, plight of older citizens and water crisis. While Hindi is the main language of the show, it was also dubbed and simulcast in other languages like Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Bengali, and subtitled in English.
