Amazon has been a syndicated tv series. It was Produced German firm Beta Film GmbH & WIC Entertainment and by production firms Alliance Atlantis Communications. The 22 episodes of the show were at syndication between 2000 and 1999. The drama show focused on the six survivors of a crashed airline flight. The band comes into contact and relationships really are anything but friendly. The group is taken in by a tribe, who descended from 16th century colonists that were lost in Amazon. Relations with the Chosen are tenuous at best. Most of the group leaks the Chosen to stir up a hornets nest with a tribe of cannibals, led by an American that is insane woman bent on domination of the local tribes. The initial season ended at a cliff hanger, and a season was never produced. The show kept interest that was adequate that it was released on DVD. A novelization of the pilot was compiled by Rob MacGregor, and also a massmarket paperback was published by Harper about 8 2000. The German name has been Amazonas - Gefangene des Dschungels.
