14-year-old Joe may be the sole child a golf ace and a housewife -- in a smallish town in 1960s Montana. Nearby, an uncontrolled forest fire rages near the border, and when Jerry loses his job (and his awareness of purpose) he decides to join the origin of fighting the fire, leaving his wife and son to fend for themselves.
