The film begins with a fictionalized depiction of a true-life incident: the July4,2003, arrest of 11 Turkish special forces soldiers and 13 civilians in the northern Iraqi Kurdish town of Sulaymaniyah by US forces of the 173rd Airborne led by Colonel William C. Mayville. Turkish soldiers believe they are receiving a routine visit from NATO allies. However, this time is unique.
