Kyle (Nicolas Cage) and Sarah Miller (Nicole Kidman) contain everything: a huge gated house onto the water, fancy cars, and the capacity for romance in their romance. He is back from a business trip (he agents diamonds) along with their adolescent daughter Avery (Liana Liberato) is sneaking into a party, when four thugs in security uniforms and ski masks point a home invasion. They need what's from the safe: diamonds and cash. The fault lines in Kyle and Sarah's union and the pasts of those four robbers are involved, as Kyle stalls them, attempting to negotiate for Sarah's freedom. Are there any room here for heroism?
