It chronicles the ups and downs of the lives of three ronin in feudal Japan as they offer their services to whichever ruler will pay enough to keep them fed. They enter through the back door reserved for the servants, but they can't shake the feeling that they have to adhere to the samurai code of Bushido, even if it means risking their lives.
