Joshua Lazarus (Nick Stahl) is a telepath who has been raised at a NSA boost home. With his abilities lazarus helps the government. He's told by the bureau that the telepathy is a side result of Widmann's Disease, and he will become mad punctually and ultimately die from the illness. However, Lazarus meets a lady with similar abilities (Taryn Manning) who does not have some sign of this illness, launch Lazarus to confront the lies he's been advised
