Tom Jeffers and gerry have found wedded life hard. Tom is a inventor/ architect and there's not much money in order for them. They're just about to be thrown out of their apartment when Gerry meets with rich businessman being shown around like a prospective tenant. He gives $700 to Gerry to start life afresh but Tom will not believe her story and they quarrel. Tom has plans to prevent her although gerry decides the marriage is over and heads into Palm Beach for a divorce.
