Felix Ungar has only split up with his wife. Despondenthe proceeds to kill himself is rescued by his friend Oscar Madison. Oscar urges Felix to relocate with him at least, with no where else to go. The only problem is that Felix is neat, very neat, and neurotic, whereas Oscar is slovenly and casual.
