Years after his squad had been ambushed during the Gulf War, Major Ben Marco finds himself with nightmares. He begins to doubt that now a vice-presidential candidate, his Sergeant Raymond Shaw, could be the hero he remembers him. As Marco's doubts deepen, Shaw's political power develops, as well as when Marco finds a mysterious implant the memory of what happened begins to return.
