Jonas, a forty-something Parisian, is still hopelessly in love with his ex-girlfriend Léa. When he knocks on her home to declare his feelings and she rejects him, he goes to the café below. He avoids everything he was expected to do that day in order to settle down and write her a lengthy love letter. What begins as a desperate attempt to get her back unexpectedly evolves into a profound reflection on the state of his life. Jonas must confront his past relationships, his uncertain future, and most importantly, himself, over the course of a day with the assistance of a wisecracking bartender and a variety of neighborhood patrons.
