Seeking escape her unhappy marriage, villainous femmefatale Bridget Gregory (Linda Fiorentino) convinces her partner, Clay (Bill Pullman), to offer heroin, subsequently steals the proceeds and runs outside . She quits at a smaller town on the way to Chicago, where she ensnares her next conquest, insurance man Mike Swale (Peter Berg). Bridget convinces a scam to run, after getting a job at his insurance company -- but things take a turn when she begs him to help get rid of her spouse.
