When Joan Boothe travels to Las Vegas with her husband, reporter David, she begins gambling to pass the time while he is on assignment. She becomes addicted to gambling as a result of the casino manager's encouragement, to the point where she "borrows" David's spending money to support her addiction. This finally brings their marriage to an end, but David continues to assist her.
