Tae-su, born into a poor family, learns that power is the most important thing in life and decides to become a prosecutor, the most powerful symbol of power in the 1990s. Tae-su finally achieves his goal of becoming a prosecutor after entering the most prestigious law school and experiencing democratic resistance in Korea, but his life is no better than that of a salary man. By chance, he becomes a member of a group of wealthy and powerful prosecutors. He finally gets a taste of life at the top, but as much as he enjoys the sweetness of power, he also sees its cruel side.
