After the events of this Desolation of Smaug, both the dwarves and Bilbo attempt to shield the mountain of treasure of Erebor out of others that claim it: the men of the ruined lake town and the elves of Mirkwood. An army of Orcs directed by Azog the Defiler is marching on Erebor. Elves, dwarves and men needs to combine, and also the hope for Middle-Earth drops into the hands of Bilbo .
