Edward Wilson, the only witness to his dad's suicide and member of the Skull and Bones Society while students at Yale, is just really a morally upright child who appreciates honour and discretion, qualities which help him to be screened for a career in the newly founded OSS. His devotion to his job does not come with a price though, causing him to sacrifice his ideals and finally his loved ones.
