The "Golden Voices Competition" will be place at Terrell Christian College (TCC) this year, but there is one catch: TCC does not have a chorus. Georgia Mae Jackson (Irma P. Hall), the music department's head, has been challenged by Assistant Dean Vickie Wilson (Tonea Stewart) to form a chorus in one month or risk losing her job. Georgia's back gives out, so she concocts a plan to have her granddaughter, Sidney Nicole Taylor (Nikki Dixon), take over the choir. Sidney upends the college when she hires Jax Rebel (Mario Mims), a fallen bad boy R&B singer, to assist her with the choir. Dean Wilson discovers Jax's tangled past and threatens to dismiss Georgia if they do not win the tournament. Will Sidney and Jax succeed in rescuing Georgia's job?
