Inspector Cruchot (Funès), who is not very good at his job, has to save the people of St. Tropez from some humanoid aliens that drink oil. Aside from their constant need for oil products, the only way to tell aliens from people is that when you touch them, they sound like empty garbage cans. Trouble is coming.
