Irena Sendler is a social worker with sympathized since her childhood, when her doctor father died of typhus contracted while treating patients that are Jewish. Her idea is met with disbelief from fellow-workers, her priest, and also her own mommy Janina when she proposes saving Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto.
