In this little Provencal village, a new baker, Aimable, settles. His wife Aurelie is stunning and much more youthful than he. She departs with a guard the evening after Aimable produces his initial breads. Aimable is so afflicted that he can not work anymore. For that reason, the citizens, who at first laughed at his cuckoldry, take the matter really seriously (they want the bread) and also arrange a strategy to discover Aurelie and also to bring her back to the bakery.
