The Smiling, Proud Wanderer was turned into the Chinese television series Swordsman by Louis Cha. Wallace Huo and Yuan Shanshan play the key roles in the series, which is written and produced by Yu Zheng and directed by Hu Yijuan. The filming began in Xiandu, Jinyun County, Lishui, Zhejiang on March24, 2012. From 6 February to 4 March2013, it was telecast in China on Hunan Television.
