Sunny is the singer of a band attempting to create a presence in East Berlin's music scene. They perform regularly in tiny places, but Sunny feels disconnected from the audience and from life in general. She begins a relationship with Ralph, an amateur saxophone and self-taught philosopher who sings her an extremely intimate song - but his obsession with death and adulterous lifestyle are not for her. After an altercation with a band member who harasses her and chastising a show presenter, she is kicked out of the band. She fights to take control of her life after being abandoned.
