The workers of a dye factory have their pay cut by 20% when the factory owner earns certain Manchu thugs to try and boost manufacturing companies. Struggling to reclaim their wages, the workers hire an actor to impersonate kungfu expert and also a priest from Shaolin's temple. The factory owner proves the actor a fraud, and punishes all those involved. The actor feels he promises to atone, and has let down the workers. He sets out for Shaolin, determined to be called a pupil at the temple that is .
