Two researchers of paranormal hoaxes, the veteran Dr. Margaret Matheson along with her young assistant, Tom Buckley, study probably the most varied metaphysical phenomena with the purpose of proving their fraudulent origins. Also a legendary psychic, simon Silver, reappears to become the international challenge to professional sceptics and both orthodox science. Tom starts to build up a powerful obsession with Silver, whose magnetism becomes stronger with each new manifestation of events that are inexplicable. As Tom gets nearer to Silver, tension mounts, along with his world view is jeopardized into its own heart.
