Friends of young men and women at Dublin in 1916 are embroiled in a struggle for independence during the Easter Rising.The story starts with the out break of World War I. As visions of a magnificent and brief campaign are dashed, societal stability is eroded and Irish nationalism comes to the fore. The tumultuous events that follow are seen through the eyes of a group of friends from Belfast, Dublin and London as they play contradictory and vital functions in the story of the independence of Ireland.
