Beth, Calvin, along with their son Conrad are still living in the aftermath of the departure of their son. Conrad lost guilt to the degree of a suicide attempt and is overcome by grief. He is in therapy. Beth so is having difficulty being supportive to Conrad and had always preferred his brother. Calvin is trapped.
