A Victoria"Vic" McQueen discovers she's got the power to unlock portals that help her find lost things. Since she delves further into this hidden world, she encounters many other"inscape travelers" - several benevolent, plus some who have been corrupted by their power. She creates a sworn enemy of Manx when Vic encounters an immortal who stays like that from feeding off of the souls of kids, Charlie Manx.
