Ranked celebrity John (Paul Rudd) and wannabe screenwriter Elliot (Patton Oswalt) are slacker close friends who've experienced their own dreams of stardom fizzle. On a mission, they embark with their birthdays to become famous from the 24/7, celebrity-obsessed universe. During it all, our disheartened duo unintentionally become crucial witnesses in a high profile offense which places the news cycle on fire, making them loved ones... but only as long as they could survive the infamy and international shame.
