Jun-shik, that works for Tatsuo's grandfather's farm while Japan colonizes Korea, dreams about participating in the Tokyo Olympics as a marathon runner. Tatsuo aims to develop into a marathon runner, and so the two eventually become contests. However, the warfare breaks out plus they both are made to enlist in the army. Tatsuo becomes the thoughts of defense at the unit of Jun-shik plus he devises a scheme but neglects. Jun-shik and Tatsuo are held by the Soviets. Soon although they run off are recorded by the Germans and forced to split up. In 1944, they meet again to the beaches of Normandy.
