For as long as she can remember, Natalie Miller has believed that she is ugly. In spite of her mother's constant reassurances that Natalie will one day be a lovely young lady, Natalie remains unconvinced. She finds a position at the Topless Bottom Club after moving to Greenwich Village and renting an apartment from an eccentric landlord. In addition to riding a motorcycle to and from work, she decorates her loft with a moose head and rides a dumbwaiter to and from her flat. The two begin a relationship before Natalie realizes that David has a wife.
