Charlie is a professional screenwriter who is trying to make ends meet by writing as many screenplays as possible. Erin is an actress who appears in films and plays, hoping to find success and herself in the process. They become close friends after meeting by chance on a film set and lamenting the realities of romance in their lives. Charlie and Erin make a pact to create the most amazing romance they can imagine. They intend to write their dates and act them out using all of the clichés they grew up with and wished would happen to them. All of the romantic overtures, however, do not go exactly as planned... Will they discover the feelings they could have for each other as they pretend to have the perfect love?
