Amidst a war, a plane carrying a group of crash lands. With no adult survivors, the boys are forced to fend for themselves. They collaborate, however if the they split into two distinct camps -- one headed by Jack by the pragmatic Ralph and the other -- their society falls leading to a study of human temperament and also a frightful conclusion.
