Immigration fraud and murder are two of Miranda Wells' specialty areas of expertise. Carla, Miranda's personal assistant, is blissfully ignorant of her misdeeds. As an illegal immigrant named David Lopez, Rick Benes, a journalist attempting to expose illegal immigration, pretends to work in the workplace. When Rick Benes falls infatuated with Miranda, Carla's investigation of the case is put in jeopardy. Miranda is the prime suspect in the murder of Carla's husband, who was attacked and killed. There can be no doubt that Miranda will do anything she can to remain out of trouble, even if that means murdering Carla once again.
