This romantic and politically significant drama centers on Malgorzata, a Polish photographer (Krystyna Janda), and Paul, her married French lover. It has a lot of conversation and is tightly focused in a single flat (Sami Frey). Before Malgorzata must return to Warsaw and Paul must rejoin his wife and daughter, the two meet up in West Berlin to spend some time together.
