Bill Compton, an ad executive, confronts and murders the lover of his daughter who deals drugs. Joe Curran, a drunk, racist factory worker with a thirst for blood, is encountered by Bill in a neighborhood tavern. When Bill confesses to Joe that he committed the murder, the two form an uneasy alliance, which leads to an exciting journey.
