Biography of Mohammed Ali Jinnah, the creator of modern-day Pakistan is informed via flashbacks as his spirit searches for eternal rest. The recalls begin in 1947 as Jinnah pleads for a separate country from the Muslim program, irritating Lord Mountbatten. Mountbatten then tries to get Gandhi & Nehru to encourage Jinnah to quit his efforts. Gandhi sides with Jinnah, which distress Nehru.
