Michael Dunn, a 16-year-old boy from Brooklyn, New York, arrived at St. Basil's Catholic Boys School in 1965. There, he makes friends with all of the misfits in his class as they fight against the repressive faculty and learn about the opposite sex as they grow up and come of age in the book.
