As World War I rages, brave and youthful Frank and Australians Archy --both agile runners--Eventually Become friends and Request from the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps together. They later end up a portion of the Dardanelles Campaign on the Gallipoli peninsula, a barbarous eight-month battle which pit the British and their allies against the Ottoman Empire and abandoned 500,000 men dead.
