A film on the basis of the semiautobiographical publication of the same name by American writer Jonathan Safran Foer, at that a young Jewish American man endeavors--with the assistance of bizarre, remote family members --to locate the woman who saved his grandfather during World War II, at a Ukrainian village that was eventually razed by the Nazis.
