Gavin Grey, the Louisiana football standout, possessed it all. He was an All-American champion who married his high school love, Babs Rogers, and was a community hero. However, following a dismal professional career, Gavin recognizes that fame and success have eluded him and that he is no longer the hero everyone keeps reminding him he should be. Gavin's dissatisfaction with his existence causes difficulties in his marriage, and he begins to question who he is, if he is no longer a hero.
