As the sun came up one morning in October 1988, Howard Wilkinson walked into the past. When Don Revie built Elland Road, it was a great football stadium in Leeds. It was also the home of one of the best club teams in Europe, which was built by Don Revie, too. Howard Wilkinson came to Leeds United that morning, and history had to go with him. Leeds United were 21st in Football League Division Two on that day. In the beginning, he met his new employers, made fun of the press, and got to work.
