During a revolution in a South American mining town, a group of outlaws, including a local hooker, a priest, an old diamond miner, and his deaf-mute daughter, are forced to flee into the jungle for their lives. They wander around desperately, being lured by one false promise of salvation after another. They are hungry, tired, and have lost their old identities.
