S. Lance Ingram, a reformed gang leader, struggles to adjust to a changed Harlem after serving a ten-year prison sentence. Lance is forced to accept a job delivering meals for a local food bank because he is unable to use the technological skills he learned while in prison. Here he meets Ms. Maddy, 75, a former beauty with an irreverent and hardened exterior to whom he delivers dinners. Lance finds hope in her, rediscovering the joys of life and living despite the outwardly perplexing society in which they find themselves.
