Fifty years of war involving the Great Eastern Federation and Europa - merged as Eurasia - have taken their toll on the planet Earth. As a consequence of using chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, as much of Earth has become uninhabitable and people have become prey into diseases that are new. Professor Azuma's"neo-cell" project, that is assumed to be the answer to mankind's hardships, becomes a nightmare come true when mutants spawned out of the experimentation escape and also declare war on the individual race. Azuma's son Tetsuya, who was killed during the war, has been reborn as mankind's last hope from the new threat that was mutant in to the cyborg Casshern. This movie predicated on a 1973 Japanese animé of the same name.
