Dramatization of the England-Australia Test cricket series of 1932/33. The series, which was played in Australia, became famous in Australian and global cricketing history because the English team (captained by Douglas Jardine) used a bowling style known as "leg theory," or more colloquially, Bodyline. This strategy comprised bowlers bowling the ball directly towards the batsman's body, resulting in multiple bruises and injuries for many members of the Australian side, including batsman Bert Oldfield, who suffered a shattered skull. The series engendered a great deal of hostility and hatred toward the English team in Australia, and it severely harmed Anglo-Australian cricketing ties at the time.
