A man and his wife are harassed by Dr. Callistratus, a mad scientist who was executed but resurrected after receiving a heart transplant. Together with his crippled assistant Carl, the 'anemic' Mad Scientist, who is suspected to be a vampire, conducts blood deficiency research on the prisoners of a mental hospital for the criminally insane in order to prolong his rebirth.
