A team from the fast food chain the Crunchy Delights of Crumb descends intending to make flesh the newest taste sensation. When They wipe out the New Zealand city Kaihoro, the Nation's Astro-Investigation and Defense Service is called in to deal with the problem. Matters are complicated an aid worker who involves Kaihoro exactly the day to collect change from the occupants, because of Giles. He's captured by the aliens, and AIaDS stages a rescue mission which quickly becomes an all-purpose attack on the aliens' headquarters.
